The Cricketer's Arms

Keighley

A small 'back-to-basics' town-centre pub and Keighley's Premier music venue

Worth Brewery took over the Cricketers Arms in October 1998. Before that the pub had been owned by the Timothy Taylor brewery and although popular in the eighties and early nineties, it had gone into decline and become somewhat run down. Worth Brewery tidied the pub up and in 1999 refitted it as a Belgian-style bar with Paris metro tram seats. Although Worth ceased brewing in 2000, the Cricketers continues to be run by John Mitchell with son James and daughter Victoira. In 2006 the pub underwent a further change and is now Keighley's top music venue. The tram seats have moved downstairs to the partially covered outdoor drinking area and the main bar has been opened out to better cater for live bands. In addition, on Friday and Saturday evening the new cellar bar offers a quieter place to drink.

The real ale range is: Moorhouse's Premier Bitter (Gold Medal Winner), and up to four guest beers during the week with additional guest beers downstairs at weekends. Guest beers are sourced from all corners of the UK and regular guests include beers from Sharps in Cornwall and Allgates in Wigan.

Live music features blues on Tuesdays, an eclectic mix of music styles on Fridays and Saturdays, a regular electric jam session on Mondays (usually once a fortnight) and occasional Thursday gigs. Click here for a list of forthcoming events. View of the Cricketer's Arms

The pub is open all day, every day from 11.30 to 11 (10.30 on Sundays) and sandwiches/ pie & peas are usually available.

Situated on Coney Lane just off East Parade, the Cricketers Arms is one of Keighley's smallest pubs. (For a map of Keighley pubs including the Cricketer's Arms, visit Keighley and Craven CAMRA's web-site.) There is no car parking space, but the pub is no more than 5 minutes walk from Keighley Bus Station and about 6 minutes walk from the Railway Station. There are regular trains to/from Skipton, Leeds and Bradford (all under 30 minutes away) and less frequent trains to/from Carlisle and Lancaster. Travel information can be obtained from West Yorkshire Metro or National Rail Enquiries.
